We have often heard that “books are our best friends”; why, because, books are an ocean of knowledge and where there is knowledge there is perfection, power and purity of thoughts. On the occasion of World Book Day, 23 April’24, the children were encouraged to read, as the theme this year says, ‘Read your way’. The more you read the more you learn, the more you learn the more you grow and the more you grow the more you have confidence to achieve your goals.
During the assembly famous Indian authors like Rabindra Nath Tagore and Munshi Premchand were paid homage. The whole school got involved in some interesting activities like ‘draw your favourite book character’, ‘dress up like any book character’ and ‘speak 2 lines on it’, ‘book mark making’, ‘book hunt’ and ‘find naming words, describing words and action words from the newspaper’.
Inculcating reading habit is a process which takes time and one can master it with discipline, this is what we keep engraving in our young minds.

When we think about unconditional love, an image of our mother comes to our mind. No matter what we do and how we treat her, she only gives back LOVE, LOVE and more LOVE.
We call the Earth our mother but sometimes we fail to become ideal citizens, when we pollute and waste our natural resources. But mother Earth never fails to satisfy our hunger and quench our thirst.
On the occasion of ‘World Earth Day’, measures to save the earth were told to the students, in the assembly for example- save energy, say no to plastic, conserve water, grow trees, etc.
The children were taught to give back to the earth by doing some activities like plantation of trees, making reusable cloth/paper bags, bird feeder, sun catcher, making plant/seed bombs, masks of endangered species, etc. Celebrating Earth day is not a one day task but it is a promise to continue putting efforts every single day round the year.

The chess boards were laid and the sports-room was all set to welcome the players for it’s under -14 & under- 17 Inter House Chess Competition. Budding players stepped in with enthusiasm and took no time to showcase their sharp analytical skills in this sports event.
The chess boards sprang to full action and in no time rooks, bishops and pawns were seen moving all around the board till they were finally expelled out.
The semi- final under 14 matches were won by Charity House and Joy House and in under 17 matches Peace House & Hope House won the matches. The winners of which then entered the final round. In the Under 14 category Joy House & under 17 category Peace House was declared as King in Chess.

Mahatma Gandhi once said, “It is health that is the real wealth and not the pieces of gold and silver”. Yes, we are talking about World Health Day which is celebrated every year on 7th April. The theme suggested by the World Health Organisation this year is “My health, My right”.
The students expressed their thoughts about the same during the assembly and gave a few health tips too. Children did some activities like slogan writing and drawing regarding the topic, some prepared salad in class to encourage healthy eating habits.
The activities also included laughter yoga, dance and music session for a healthy and relaxed mind.
We celebrated a healthy week having different activities each day making the students aware of how to take care of themselves and their loved ones.

Red and white is all we saw in today’s class presentation of class 2, as love and
peace go hand in hand… Yes! The theme on which the children performed was LOVE – “The Most Powerful Force in the Universe”.
Through the performance, the kids told us that love is a gift of God. Love is universal and must be spread as much as possible. Love for every species, ways to love one another, self-love, love for the country, etc. were some of the items presented by the children where we learnt that love exists in different forms and we must follow all of them to become a better human being. The parents were bubbling with joy to see their little ones representing the theme so well on stage.
The kids sprinkled some universal love our way and that’s how it all ended.

Peace comes from within, from simple things that effect our spirit and soul.
Peace comes when I wrap my mother in my arms,
Peace is in shared laughter with friends ,
Peace is in the smile of a teacher when we figure out a solution to a problem..
With these peaceful and soulful thoughts started the presentation by the children of class 4 at the Gomti Nagar branch.
Yoga, a way of life ,was the opening of the peace statement..A lyrical poem on peace was an enjoyable one. The greatest apostle of peace Mahatma Gandhi was remembered with a melodious song sending the message of forgiveness, individualism and soul force.
How Ashoka -the great ,changed his thoughts and became a messenger of peace after seeing the blood shed was beautifully depicted by the Hindi skit. The peppy finale song….एक ऐसा जहां हम बनायेंगे,इंसान को इंसान हम बनायेंगे penned by the music teacher and performed enthusiastically by all the children. The parents applauded the efforts of the teacher and their children and were happy to see them perform so confidently .
