A safer climate for our future generations is now a global issue with no boundaries. With this issue in mind Spring Dale institution observed awareness week from the 18th– 25thof July 2019.

Awareness week dedicated to the memory of our esteemed founders Sir B.S.Sood and Ma’am Krishna Sood is a special endeavor observed for the last 24 years at Spring Dale institutions every year. It is a step to carry forward the dream of our founders to mould socially conscious and morally upright citizens. During the week a socially relevant topic is chosen and through various activities awareness is created amongst the students and their families and in turn the society at large. Some of the themes chosen till now are gender equality, being a socially responsible citizen, each one – teach one etc.

This year the week becomes all the more special as we usher into the 50th year. In sync with the chosen theme for the year a host of activities were conducted across all the three branches. To name a few are mime, skit, poetry recitation, nukkad natak etc.

Since this issue of having a safer climate has no boundaries, hence an effort was made to involve students of other schools and get their opinion also. The main events for the inter school competition were poster making, slogan writing and vers-e-style. Reputed institutions participated enthusiastically in all the programs.

The week long program commenced on 25thJuly which happens to be the death anniversary of our founder father Sir. B S Sood.  To observe this special day students of all the three branches took part in  an awareness march  flagged off by Major S.K khanna  President of Spring Dale Institution,  which originated from 1090 Crossing to Lohia Park, Gomti Nagar. The students also carried messages depicting this environmental concern. The March culminated at the Lohia Park amphitheater where the morning walkers and other spectators witnessed a power packed and thought provoking Street Play performed by the students of all the three branches. It was followed by the rendition of a self composed poem “ log hi logo se kahte ki log zimmedar hain” by Mr. Rahul Deo, the music teacher, which sensitized the audience to be a part of the change which they wish to see for their future generations. Eco friendly bags with tips on how to save our planet written by the students were distributed to the general public to involve them in this endeavour. More than 300 tree saplings were planted by the staff and students to create a small forest area in Lohia Park. The Director of the school Mrs Reeta Khanna apprised the viewers about the need and concern of Mother Earth.

A special assembly was also conducted in all the three branches starting with an all religion prayer and briefing about the significance of the Awareness week and the contribution of our founders in this direction.
